Quantum Computing

Quantum computers could spur the development of new breakthroughs in science, medications to save lives, machine learning methods to diagnose illnesses sooner, materials to make more efficient devices and structures, financial strategies to live well in retirement, and algorithms to quickly direct resources such as ambulances." - IBM

This page is meant to introduce the technology of quantum computing. We will be adding links on this page to innovative content in this field.

Quantum Computing

If you thought supercomputers were fast, quantum computing is like light years faster.
In 2019, Google said that it ran a calculation on a quantum computer in just a few minutes that would take a classical computer 10,000 years to complete. A little over a year later, a team based in China took this a step further, claiming that it had performed a calculation in 200 seconds that would take an ordinary computer 2.5B years — 100 trillion times faster." - "What is Quantum Computing" - CB Insights

China is a particular focus in this blog also as it has advanced research in various technologies and may not have the ethics or restraints that the same research has in the U.S. and other countries. If the above statement is true about China's development of quantum computing, then it may be proof of their possible superiority in different technological development. It only as recent as December 2020 that we became aware of this and it started to appear in mainstream news. See the Google search - China and Quantum Computing

Quantum Motion - is one company in Great Britain that is an example of innovation in quantum computing and disruptive technology. In the following news release March 31 2021, Quantum motion describes their innovative development of scalable quantum computing chips. Imagine having this type of chip in our cell phones!
